This year's juror is Clinton Jukkala, Yale University assistant professor of painting/printmaking and director of undergraduate studies in art.
The exhibition will open on Wednesday, Feb. 17, with a reception and awards presentation from 5-7 p.m. in the Joseloff Gallery (awards will be announced at approximately 6 p.m.). The show will run through March 21.
Full-time students in all of the University’s seven schools and colleges are eligible to enter. The two top pieces chosen by the juror will receive $1,000 Purchase Prizes, made possible though the Alexander A. Goldfarb Endowment Trust, and become part of the Hartford Art School’s permanent collection of artwork.
Work will be selected on the basis of originality, technique, aesthetic content and overall presentation. All media will be considered, including drawing, painting, design, illustration, sculpture, ceramics, video, all photographic techniques, prints, installation pieces and work in non-traditional formats.
