Flood-Damaged Section of Road Reopens
Contractors work to repair the flood-damaged road between The Hartt School and the Facilities/Public Safety building.
That section of roadway sustained significant damage during flooding last weekend. After several days of work, the Facilities Department reopened the road, with a temporary gravel surface, late Tuesday afternoon.
Paving will begin on Wednesday morning and is expected to be completed by the end of the week. One lane of traffic will be open while the road is being paved.
Pedestrians are encouraged to avoid that area until the paving work has been completed. Pedestrians should cross the Park River (also known as the Hog River) by using the footbridge between the University Commons and the Harry Jack Gray Center.
In order to avoid construction-related traffic, drivers should use the north entrance to campus (the entrance closest to Bloomfield) to access the residence halls, University Commons, Sports Center, Lincoln Theater, Konover Campus Center, and the Facilities/Public Safety building.
Vehicles may use the south entrance (the main campus entrance) for all other buildings.
