Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) Go Online
The following is a memo to faculty and staff from Human Resources Development.
The Office of Human Resources Development (HRD) consistently strives to review and streamline cumbersome processes in an effort to ease the administrative burden on University departments and colleges.
As you know, the Employment Rosters were recently updated to include the supervisor of the individual(s) being employed. This change was implemented to aid HRD in identifying the appropriate individual to contact for any questions regarding the roster. Identification of the supervisor is also a key component of the new automated timekeeping system.
As part of HRD’s efforts in resource conservation and sustainability, we have updated the Personnel Action Form (PAF) and also made this available electronically. The PAF has been modified slightly, however we hope that you find the form more user friendly. Since the form is no longer in triplicate, please retain a photocopy on file for your department’s records.
The updated rosters and PAFs can now be downloaded from the HRD Forms page at www.hartford.edu/hrd/forms. The forms are located under the "Employment" heading. Please begin using these forms immediately and destroy old versions that may be in your department.
HRD would like to thank David Bell, associate dean in The Hartt School, for the template of the new PAF. His online version was the impetus for HRD to update the old version and make the online version available to the University community.
As a reminder, effective immediately, Form I9s for new student and temporary employees, including adjunct faculty, are now being completed in HRD. Please direct your new hires to HRD, located in the Financial and Administrative Services Building (FASB) to complete their Form I9 paperwork.
If you have any questions regarding this new process or any suggestions to improve this process, please contact your designated HR Manager.
Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation.
