Filburn Gives Talk to NASA Engineers
Posted 12/7/2005
Thomas Filburn, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, CETA, and associate director of the Connecticut Space Grant Consortium, recently gave an invited talk to engineers at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston.
His talk was titled "Using NASA Space Grant and EPSCoR to Perform EVA (Extra Vehicular Activity) Research.” EPSCoR stands for Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research.
Filburn’s talk was part of NASA's Exploration EVA (Extra Vehicular Activity) Conference. The conference brought together NASA, industry, and academic researchers to discuss design parameters for the next generation space suit.
The next generation space suit will give explorers the ability to return to and survey the moon, and eventually reach Mars.
