

H1N1 vaccine clinics open to all students, faculty, and staff will take place on Thursday at Health Services (located in the Sports Center).
Health Services has received a limited supply of H1N1 flu vaccine. Vaccines are being offered
today (Wednesday, Nov. 4) to students who are considered at higher risk under Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines. Students were notified about the vaccine clinic on Tuesday.
On
Thursday, Nov. 5, Health Services will offer additional H1N1 vaccine clinics,
open to all students, faculty, and staff.
The cost of the vaccine is $10, which may be paid with cash, check payable to ProHealth, credit card, or Hawk Cash.
Today’s Vaccine Clinic
Health Services is offering H1N1 flu vaccines
today (Wednesday, Nov. 4) from
9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. for students who meet the following criteria:
-- students who have asthma, including exercise-induced asthma
-- students with other chronic medical conditions, such as diabetes or Crohn's Disease
-- students who have young children or who work with young children
-- students who work or live with someone with a chronic medical condition
The clinic is being held
at Health Services (located in the Sports Center).
Thursday’s Clinics
Additional H1N1 vaccine clinics
open to all students, faculty, and staff will be held on
Thursday, Nov. 5, at the following times:
8 a.m. to 10 a.m.; 12 noon to 1:30 p.m.; and
3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The clinics will take place at
Health Services (located in the Sports Center).
Future clinics will be announced through the University's Flu Information Center at
www.hartford.edu/flu.
As of Nov. 3, there were 20 active cases of confirmed or suspected H1N1 flu among students, faculty, and staff. In total, Health Services has reported more than 70 confirmed or suspected cases of H1N1 within the campus community. This number continues to be a small percentage of the community. Flu cases on campus to date have been relatively mild and most students have recovered in four to five days.
