Maria Esposito Frank, associate professor of Italian Studies, A&S, has published an article titled "Dante's Muhammad: Parallels between Islam and Arianism" in the latest issue of Dante Studies.

This study explores medieval views of Islam in the Latin West as well as in the East, according to a variety of historical, theological, and literary sources. A new reading of Dante's own understanding of the Prophet is the main scholarly contribution of this work.
