Dear Graduating Seniors,

Attention!!  With graduation quickly approaching, one very important question you may be asking yourself is, "What will I do once I have graduated?".

Perhaps some of you will begin your careers and others will go directly into graduate school.  For those of you who are not quite sure, you might want to consider continuing your education through our unique and wonderful opportunity.

The University of Hartford's Admission Office is looking for Graduate Assistants to work as Admission Counselors for the 2014–2016 academic years, acting as the University's "presence."  This position will include recruiting prospective students by visiting local high schools and attending state/national college fairs in a specified territory.  In-house training will begin August 4, 2014, and recruitment will take place mid-September through mid-December.

A stipend, as well as travel-related expenses, will be paid during the fall semester (while you are on the road).  In addition, we will pay 100% of full-time graduate tuition in the spring and summer semesters.  This arrangement allows for alternating periods of full-time employment and full-time graduate study.  A second-year appointment will be made if employment and academic responsibilities are satisfactorily met, allowing for completion of a master's degree program at the conclusion of the second year.

The ideal candidate should be active within the University, have a 3.0+ cumulative GPA, and must possess strong communication skills, excellent time management skills, and enthusiasm for the University of Hartford.  In addition, candidates must meet the academic standards (GPA requirement, GRE/GMAT, etc.) conducive with matriculating into a graduate degree program.

All interested students should submit a cover letter and resume (via email, if possible) to Julie Spring, Senior Assistant Director of Admissions — Bates House, jspring@hartford.edu, at your earliest convenience.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions as well … Looking forward to hearing from you!
