Child Partnered with Hartford Hawks Baseball Team Throws First Pitch at Red Sox Game

Thomas Hastings, a Windsor boy with muscular dystrophy, is an honorary member of the University of Hartford Hawks baseball team. Thomas threw out the first pitch at the Boston Red Sox game on Sunday, July 6. His story, including his involvement with the Hartford Hawks, was featured on the New England Sports Network (NESN) before the game. During that interview, a video showed Thomas taking part in a Hartford Hawks baseball game and going to the mound to make the call to change pitchers.

This segment also included another mention of the Hartford Hawks baseball team and its partnership with Team Impact, which seeks to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnessses by matching them with college athletic teams.
