Hillyer College students and Associate Professor of English Joyce Ashuntantang will present “Words Like Trees III: A Black History Month Celebration,” on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Konover Great Room.

This wonderful event, now in its third year, will include student speakers giving voice to inspirational words from people ranging from Frederick Douglass to Gabby Douglas. There will also be exciting music from the Hartt School’s Dane Scozzari and the Human Race, the De 4 Ahwee steel band, and a special guest appearance from Senegalese Kora player Boubacar Diabate.

Words Like Trees III is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
