Teaching Focus: Professor Felmlee’s teaching focus is on Lower Limb Orthotics which develop the foundational clinical principles in the areas of patient evaluation and orthotic interventions. Professor Felmlee also teaches Scientific Inquiry courses and performs various types of research aimed at strengthening the body of knowledge within the profession. Professor Felmlee coordinates the Teaching Assistant coursework to bolster the experiential learning of our students with an interest advancing the educational methods within O&P.
Professional Interests: Professor Felmlee serves on the national Board of Directors of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists and the Orthotics and Prosthetics Foundation for Education and Research. He also maintains a role as a clinical and educational consultant for Hanger Clinic. Raising awareness and coordinating opportunities locally and abroad for students and clinicians to help a large, underserved population is of great interest. His research collaborations include work with Combat-Wounded Veteran Challenge for data collection in challenging and unique environments including hiking and scuba diving. He additionally serves and supports the organizations Limb Kind Foundation and Dreaming and Working Together providing international support for education and provision of prosthetic services.
