When it comes to business, making the right connections is key to success. Getting large and small companies in the same room and talking to each other is often difficult. On Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., that’s a challenge the Connecticut Business Matchmaker event will solve when it hosts 42 state and federal agencies, large corporations and municipalities that want to do business with small business. CT Business Matchmaker will be held at the University of Hartford's Gengras Student Union, 200 Bloomfield, Avenue, West Hartford, CT.
In addition to government agencies, corporations in diverse industries such as construction, defense, energy, transportation, healthcare, education, and financial services will be present.
According to Sandra Cahill, Director of the University of Hartford's Entrepreneurial Center, the Matchmaker event is a golden opportunity for business owners to market their companies and introduce themselves to potential buyers and general contractors. Cahill adds, "We've been doing this event for 5 years now, and we know if a small business comes prepared, the event will open doors and reduce the time it takes to get from contact to potential contract. Buyers find new reliable sources for subcontractors and small businesses have an easy way to increase their prospects with large organizations. The bottom line is that it works.”
With advance registration, and a modest fee of $65, business owners get access to buyers at multi-billion dollar organizations with as many as 10 - 10 minute appointments to pitch their products and services. For more information, visit Hartford.edu/matchmaker or call 860.768.5681.
CT Business Matchmaker 2015 is being organized by the University of Hartford’s Entrepreneurial Center, the CT District Office of the Small Business Administration, CT Procurement Technical Assistance Program, CT Department of Administrative Services, US General Services Administration, and the CT Human Rights & Opportunities Commission. The Platinum Sponsor is The Metropolitan District. Bronze Sponsors are CT Construction Industries Association, Farmington Bank, Morganti Group Inc., The Hartford and Viking Construction Inc.
