About Us

Excellence through Relevance—The College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions (ENHP) prepares professionals for service to the community.

Our promise to offer the best possible academic programs is paired with a strong commitment to translate knowledge into action. This translational nature of our work permeates ENHP's degree offerings as well as our research and scholarship. Not only do we strive to ensure that academic work remains meaningful to the communities we serve, but we also aim to learn from practical experiences to inform classroom and laboratory experiences. Accordingly, a cycle that translates theory into practice, and back, shapes our identity as a professional college.

Excellence through Relevance—The phrase expresses our new vision: to become a national model for integrating education and health science with community engagement.

Faculty, staff, and students strive toward this future by supporting the best possible academic programs while ensuring tangible benefits to community members, young or adult learners, patients, clients, or caretakers. The vision is based on ENHP's long-standing mission to provide a scholarly environment in which we prepare professionals to teach, promote well-being, and become leaders in local, national, and global communities. Therefore, our vision for the future is solidly grounded in the roots of our past.

Excellence through Relevance—As we move together into the second decade of the 21st century, a clear and urgent sense of the global importance of the education and health sciences emerges. But scientific knowledge will only be meaningful if it remains relevant to the daily lives of those we serve. To achieve our vision—to integrate science with engagement—we invite you to participate in shaping ENHP's future. We ensure an academic environment that promotes a culture of excellence and relevance, one of heterogeneity of thought and action, and one of reflection and collaboration. Consequently, ENHP addresses critical local, national, and global issues in the education and health sciences through translational, community-engaging work.
