Department of Rehabilitation Sciences
Kevin Ball is an associate professor of rehabilitation sciences, and is the founding director of the Human Performance Research (HPR) lab, a facility that provides measurement and analysis of force, motion, energy, and muscle activation for functional activities such as balance and gait. For both the Doctor of Physical Therapy and the Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics programs, he makes use of the HPR lab in instructional areas that include kinesiology, biomechanics, and scientific Inquiry.
Ball enjoys serving the ENHP community and its partners as the Associate Dean for Research and Community. From January 2010 to January 2013, he co-directed the dual-degree program in Prosthetics and Orthotics as its inaugural Academic Director. Central to Ball's scientific interests are the concepts of the kinetic chain - his experimental, and modeling, work evaluates the human body's musculoskeletal structure and its functional responses in balance and gait. Examination of the effectiveness, reliability, and validity of the clinical methods for biomechanical assessment are also of great interest.
