Janet Gangaway

Teaching Focus

Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy, ACCE, Janet MK Gangaway PT, DPT, OCS, ATC, ATRIC believes in experiential learning. Her students are provided with the didactic instruction, then provided ample opportunity to practice the skills until competence is acquired. Gangaway’s courses are of a case-based format; students must apply clinical reasoning skills to apply their knowledge in physical therapy examination and intervention skills such as strength testing, range of motion testing, exercise prescription, transfers, and assisted ambulation.

Professional Interests

Gangaway’s research interest is in the area of aquatic physical therapy and investigating the efficacy of aquatic physical therapy interventions on different patient populations. Her current project is the technique Ai Chi and its effects on persons with fibromyalgia.
