Assistant Professor Matthew Parente’s teaching focuses on the clinical and professional aspects of the field of prosthetics and orthotics. He teaches multiple courses to the undergraduate and graduate students within the major. Parente is responsible for the integrated internship courses in the master's program in prosthetics and orthotics (MSPO). He is also an instructor for the prosthetics and rehabilitation strategies curricular component in the doctoral program in physical therapy.
Parente’s interests include student and program development and advancement. Specifically, he has been engaged in curriculum coordination throughout the program. This includes assisting and consulting on research projects within the department. He excels at building relationships within the University and throughout the entire field of prosthetics and orthotics. Parente was instrumental in the initiation and development of the MSPO program at the University of Hartford.
