Ellen Wetherbee

Teaching Focus

Ellen Wetherbee is an associate professor and academic coordinator of clinical education (ACCE) in the Physical Therapy (PT) Program.  She is an APTA Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and has teaching responsibilities in the PT Program related to this area of expertise.  She also has a Masters in Education and teaches content related to educational strategies for physical therapy professionals. Wetherbee is an APTA certified instructor for the APTA’s Clinical Instructor and Education Program, a program which informs clinicians about their role as educators for physical therapy students during clinical experiences.

Professional Interests

Wetherbee’s professional interests are related to the provision of education in the clinical environment.  She has published research and has worked with ACCE colleagues to promote scholarship related to clinical education.  She also maintains clinical practice in home care and in outpatient orthopedics.
