Certificate in Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Our certificate program in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) prepares individuals for a career in an exciting field of diagnostic imaging. The program accepts qualified individuals into a 9-month, 21-credit sequence of courses that provides students with both classroom instruction and clinical experience.
- In this advanced certificate program, students gain eligibility to earn an additional credential in MRI- highly attractive to potential employers.
- Courses meet the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists' (ARRT) structured education requirement for post-primary certification, effective January 1, 2016.

- Our 15+ clinical affiliates in the Greater Hartford area include major hospitals and private imaging offices, affording students real-world training.
In accordance with AART's guidelines, "candidates pursuing post-primary pathway certification and registration in Magnetic Resonance Imaging must be certified and registered in radiography, nuclear medicine technology (registration through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) is also accepted), radiation therapy, or sonography (registration through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is also accepted)" and licensed in the State of Connecticut.
Individuals are required to be CPR-certified and must undergo a background check and drug screen prior to clinical placement.
