Respiratory Care Program

Program Mission

To prepare graduates with demonstrated competence in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains of respiratory care practice as performed by registered respiratory therapists (RRTs).

Program Goals

Objective A: Graduates will exhibit the cognitive skills required to perform all functions associated with their role as respiratory care practitioners.

Objective B: Graduates will exhibit the psychomotor skills required to perform all functions associated with their role as respiratory care practitioners.

Objective C: Graduates will exhibit the affective skills required to perform all functions associated with their role as respiratory care practitioners.

Student Learning Outcomes

Obj A. Cognitive skills

  1. 85% of graduates will successfully complete the national credentialing examination;
  2. 85% of employers will rate graduates as demonstrating satisfactory cognitive skills;
  3. 85% of graduates will self-rate their own cognitive skill at satisfactory levels.

Obj B. Psychomotor skills

  1. 85% employers will rate graduates as demonstrating satisfactory psychomotor skills;
  2. 85% of graduates will self-rate their own psychomotor skill at satisfactory levels.

Obj C. Affective skills

  1. 85% employers will rate graduates as demonstrating satisfactory affective skills;
  2. 85% of graduates will self-rate their own affective skill at satisfactory levels.
