The mission of the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences is to graduate competent, ethical, and autonomous professionals who value clinical practice, relevant research, and life-long learning. Grounded in a strong science foundation, the department’s curricula foster “excellence through relevance” by promoting a variety of learning experiences. These experiences enhance critical thinking, values identification, and collaboration with external partners. Our emphasis on scientific research and the discovery of new knowledge related to clinical practice reflects the University of Hartford’s identity as “a private university with a public purpose.” Faculty and graduates appreciate diversity in all its forms and play proactive roles in the community and the health care system.
