Integrating
Theory and Practice
The
campus is located at the intersection of three communities, giving
students and faculty easy access to urban, suburban and rural environments.
Students' programs take them into diverse community settings as
well as a fully integrated component of their learning. These experiences
range from volunteer experiences as part of a course, to instruction
taking place in schools, clinics, and hospitals, to full time internship
and practicum experiences. Students' professional and life experiences,
both past and present, are an important part of their programs.
Faculty and students engage in discovery and examination of cutting
edge theory as well, so that theory and practice inform and advance
one another. Faculty members are involved in community schools,
clinics and agencies as practitioners, researchers and consultants
