Braney Presents at State and National Level

Bridget Braney's paper, "An Examination of Fourth Grade Teachers' Assessment Literacy and its Relationship to Students' Reading Achievement," won best paper at the Twenty-Third Annual Arizona Educational Research Organization (AERO) Workshop and Conference for 2010.  The work is based on her dissertation research in the Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership. Her thesis advisor was Assistant Professor Diana J. LaRocco. Braney was awarded her doctorate in January, 2011.

The Arizona award provided automatic acceptance at the 2011 American Educational Research Association (AERA) annual meeting, and a $250 credit toward her conference expenses. She did speak at the 2011 AERA conference held April 8 through April 12, 2011 in New Orleans.  She presented her doctoral work in the area of assessment issues in schools..

Currently Braney is the principal of Sandra Day O'Connor Elementary School in the Mesa Unified School District in Mesa, Arizona.  Her school was named a 2010 National Blue Ribbon School.
