Being a member of the board is not a new role for Lydia A. Tedone. She has served as President of the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE) since 2011 and has been a member of the CABE Board of Directors since 2006. A member of the Simsbury Board of Education since 1997, Tedone currently serves as Board Chair. In addition, she has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Capital Region Education Council since 2000 and served as its Chair in 2007 and 2008. She has been active in the SHEFF Movement and the Connecticut Coalition for Justice in Education
On a national level, Tedone is an active member of the National School Board Association where she serves as a Northeast Regional Delegate.
Tedone has served on numerous public and not-for-profit boards and commissions including Soroptimist International of Farmington Valley and Community Farm of Simsbury. Additionally, she has a long history of service to local organizations such as the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce, Simsbury-Granby Rotary and Citizens Police Academy. Lydia is a member of the Simsbury Republican Town Committee. Previously, she held various positions with the Farmington Valley YMCA for nearly 20 years, most recently as Coordinator of Early Childhood Education programming. A graduate of Bentley College with a BS in Business Administration, Lydia resides in Simsbury.
