"Phantom" in Rad Tech Lab

According to Dan DeMaio, director of the Radiologic Technology Program, the new radiographic "phantom" is a great addition to the RAD program's energized x-ray lab. The phantom is life-size and contains a state-of-the-art synthetic skeleton and soft tissue material that enable it to be radiographed just like the human body. The phantom's joints allow full-range of motion, providing students with the opportunity to practice their radiographic positioning. Students can produce digital radiographs of the phantom to evaluate their technical skills and identify areas for improvement, before applying these techniques on real patients during clinical rotations.
