The secondary education program of the Education Unit at the University of Hartford welcomed the newest students into the professional phase of their academic program in fall, 2011. These students are juniors majoring in either secondary English or mathematics education. They were joined by their faculty for lunch in the 1877 Club. A framed copy of the quote, "I touch the future. I teach,” by Christa McAuliffe, teacher/astronaut, was presented to each student to commemorate their progression in the program.
