Feasibility
The Principal Investigator (PI) must consider whether the proposed project is feasible. Questions to consider are:
  • Is it do-able? Can the university allocate personnel, facilities, equipment and study populations to make the project work? If not, are there other resources that would contribute to the project's success? Would significant travel to another university or laboratory be necessary?
  • Do you have sufficient background, experience and publications to present an established track record of research achievement? Can you compete with established investigators or would you be more competitive against junior faculty or those with less research experience? Will you need to collaborate with other investigators?
  • In discussions with your department chair and your dean, will you have enough time to conduct the project? Will the university of Hartford commit the necessary institutional resources? Will the university provide matching funds? In-kind contribution? Is the project compatible with the research, educational or service goals of the university? As soon as you decide to prepare a proposal, please contact IPSR to set up a meeting to discuss your proposal and timeline.
