Ashley Berube was born and raised in Southington, Conn. She received her BFA with a concentration in printmaking from the Hartford Art School in 2014. Since graduating, she has worked at the New Britain Museum of American Art and as a print assistant for artist John Willis. She is primarily focused on drawing and lithography. Berube’s interests are in producing compositions with conflicting and contradicting spaces. Her work is informed by the examination of contemporary architecture and the spatial relationships between indoor and outdoor spaces. She identifies with the work of Brice Marden and Sean Scully.
