Undergraduate Commencement Advisory

The University of Hartford's Undergraduate Commencement main ceremony takes place as scheduled today beginning at 10 a.m. on the campus green. Graduates should report to line up no later than 9:30 a.m. Following the main ceremony, graduates and guests will proceed to separate sites on campus for diploma presentation ceremonies with the following change from the original schedule: the Hartford Art School will hold its ceremony in Gengras Student Union cafeteria while University Studies will move to Wilde Auditorium in the Harry Jack Gray Center. Jesele Paragone started her career in the arts as an arts writer for various publications around Syracuse, NY. She completed her BFA in painting at Syracuse University, and has since shown her work in galleries all over New England. She holds a Masters degree from the Goldring Arts Journalism Program at Syracuse University's S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, a cutting-edge program designed to shape writers as advocates for the arts. She has reported on the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC, the Toronto International Film Festival, and hundreds of concerts and art openings around New England.  

Prior to coming to the University of Hartford, Jes lived in Portland, OR. She is a Connecticut native and is thrilled to be back home for the first time in nearly a decade. As an alumna of the Hartt School Community Division (she studied piano for a total of 25 years), she is thrilled to be a part of Hartford Art School and the University community as a whole.
