Silpe Gallery

Silpe Gallery

The Donald & Linda Silpe Gallery is a stimulating exhibition space that focuses on experimentation and exploration of new ideas in art making. Students and Faculty benefit from the two classic white cube spaces to facilitate the realization of creative projects.

Throughout the year, the Silpe Gallery presents comprehensive group shows such as Freshman Foundation and Senior Show, and collaborative projects with community organizations. In 2016, the Silpe Gallery presented Community, in collaboration with Connecticut Community Colleges, and Scholastics, a joint project with the Connecticut Art Education Association.

International artist and Hartford Art School alumnus, Mark Dion, premiered his latest print project, created in the HAS printmaking studios, as part of the exhibition, Mark Dion: Print Re/View, the most comprehensive exhibition of Dion's prints. Other alumni return to campus as professional artists during the Alumni Invitational exhibitions.
