Getting Around

All students residing on campus (including freshman) have the option to bring a car to campus by obtaining a parking permit through Public Safety.

The University of Hartford offers shuttle services both on and off campus for the convenience of students, the entire UHart community, and guests. Stops include Westfarms Mall, Bishops Corner, Blue Back Square, and Jerry's Artarama of West Hartford!

The University is also partnered with ZipCar. Zipcars are available on-demand and can be easily reserved and accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Bicycles are also welcomed and encouraged on campus. Free bicycle registration is provided by the Department of Public Safety.

Air

Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Conn., is located 15 miles from campus. It is served by the following airlines: Air Canada, American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, United, and U.S. Airways.

To campus from the airport: Connecticut Transit offers its Bradley Airport Flyer semi-express bus service from the airport to downtown Hartford ($1.50 one-way fare), where you can transfer to local bus route 56 B, D, or F to campus. The trips operate approximately hourly between downtown Hartford, the Connecticut Convention Center, and all the terminals at the airport, seven days a week. Passengers are responsible for their own luggage— the buses do not have regular luggage compartments. It is a 25–30 minute cab ride from the airport to campus.

Train and Interstate Bus

Union Station in downtown Hartford is the area's transportation hub for Amtrak and interstate Greyhound and Peter Pan Bus Lines. It is an 8–10 minute cab ride from the station to campus.

Local Bus

Connecticut Transit Route 56 (B, D and F) provides local bus service, Monday-Saturday, between the University and downtown Hartford with connections to other neighboring towns and Bradley International Airport. The bus stop for inbound service to downtown is located on campus. Outbound routes drop off at the front of campus on Bloomfield Avenue.
