Parking Advisory

With forecast heavy rains for Saturday and the potential for both river and flash flooding, students are asked to avoid parking in low-lying areas of parking lots C, D, E (along the tree line), F (eastern most entrance by the pond), and N-Annex. Cars should now be on higher ground within these lots or in Lot F (by Konover Campus Center). Vehicles should be returned to their assigned parking lots by 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 21.

Chair, Art History Department

Henry Ford College

M.A., Art Education, 1978

I studied printmaking at HAS back in 1976-78. Upon finishing my master's degree, I returned to Iraq, started teaching Printmaking at the College of Fine Arts, University of Baghdad and introduced the various technical knowledge I gained at HAS with my students. In 1987, I returned to the US and finished my Ph.D. in Art History, University of Iowa, 1993. I taught art and art history in Michigan since 1995, and currently I work at Henry Ford College as chair of the art history department since 2005.  Although my new focus was on art history research and publication, I've continued to produce work in printmaking and painting, contribute to exhibits, and participate in conferences. What I learned at HAS was and continues to be an inspirational experience in exploring new technical process and examining new materials. HAS inspires and widens students' learning perspectives.
