Parking Advisory

With forecast heavy rains for Saturday and the potential for both river and flash flooding, students are asked to avoid parking in low-lying areas of parking lots C, D, E (along the tree line), F (eastern most entrance by the pond), and N-Annex. Cars should now be on higher ground within these lots or in Lot F (by Konover Campus Center). Vehicles should be returned to their assigned parking lots by 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 21.

B.F.A., Photography, 2005

After graduating the Hartford Art School in 2005 I moved back to Rhode Island and worked as a portrait photographer at Portrait Simple. I also assisted two wedding photographers during the “wedding season”. I kept up my “fine art” photography by getting involved in the gallery scene in Providence and by entering photo contests and shows.

I participated in Gallery Night in 2006 and had my work purchased by a private art collector.  In 2007 I was the Still Photographer for a local documentary on Rocky Point, which was an iconic amusement park in Warwick, RI. In 2008, I participated in my first art festival and won 1stplace in Photography at the Narragansett Art Festival. In 2009, one of my Holgaroid black and white images won 3rd Place in Light Leaks Magazine for their Holgapalooza photo contest. Since then I continue to participate in local art shows and have judged several shows.

In 2010, I decided to open my own studio in Providence {Nicole Gesmondi Photographer, LLC}. We are a full service wedding and portrait studio specializing in fine art work for our clients home. You can view our work on our website: http://www.nicolegesmondi.com

I continue to shoot my “fine art” work in my free time. I still enjoy photographing peeling paint {which was my thesis} and reflections. I love experimenting with expired films and old cameras. I hope to have a book someday. I would also love to connect with an art dealer to have my work around the world. Still working on that part!
