Parking Advisory

With forecast heavy rains for Saturday and the potential for both river and flash flooding, students are asked to avoid parking in low-lying areas of parking lots C, D, E (along the tree line), F (eastern most entrance by the pond), and N-Annex. Cars should now be on higher ground within these lots or in Lot F (by Konover Campus Center). Vehicles should be returned to their assigned parking lots by 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 21.

B.F.A., Visual Communication Design, 2005

I have been self-employed since 2009 as an independent illustrator creating work for clients including Facebook, Nike, Coca-Cola, McDonalds, Village Voice, and Nickelodeon. My illustration career has grown out of my daily drawing project that I started in 2007. I’ve published two books documenting the series, the most recent one being, Another 1000 Days of Drawing, which features daily drawings 1001–2000.

Some of my current projects include a series of patterns for Nickelodeon, some looping animations for McDonalds, and tons of digital stickers for Facebook. In addition to my illustration career I typically teach a class or two each semester at the Hartford Art School. This semester I am teaching Illustration Portfolio Preparation.

I received my BFA in Visual Communication Design from HAS in 2005, which led me to work at a couple award winning design studios in New England. Even though I no longer work as a designer everything I learned in the design program has helped me to brand my business. I’ve since gotten my MFA in Illustration from HAS which has expanded my network and allowed me to grow even further as an illustrator.
