Parking Advisory

With forecast heavy rains for Saturday and the potential for both river and flash flooding, students are asked to avoid parking in low-lying areas of parking lots C, D, E (along the tree line), F (eastern most entrance by the pond), and N-Annex. Cars should now be on higher ground within these lots or in Lot F (by Konover Campus Center). Vehicles should be returned to their assigned parking lots by 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 21.

B.F.A., Ceramics, 2012

My drive to create in any material is a passion that needs nurturing.  Finding the right spot for that to happen and being open to change is tricky. I was accepted to HAS with a scholarship but was so fearful of change and the unknown future I ended up dropping out 3 days into freshman year. I was able to come back the following year.  I feel grateful for the four years spent at HAS.  The depth of knowledge and the amount of support that I received there has shaped who I am as a maker and artist.

After graduation, I was a resident artist at The Orendaga in Northville New York where I spent the winter of 2013/14 throwing and teaching classes to local potters. I am currently working at a factory that makes industrial light fixtures for the US Navy and other environments of extreme conditions. I am also employed as a pottery teacher at Wesleyan Potters, a co-op studio in Middletown, CT.  Both jobs are hands on and demand a form of creative thinking. On top of working, I am building a studio to continue my ceramic career, as well as start a wood working shop.
