Parking Advisory

With forecast heavy rains for Saturday and the potential for both river and flash flooding, students are asked to avoid parking in low-lying areas of parking lots C, D, E (along the tree line), F (eastern most entrance by the pond), and N-Annex. Cars should now be on higher ground within these lots or in Lot F (by Konover Campus Center). Vehicles should be returned to their assigned parking lots by 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 21.

B.F.A., Painting, 2014

Since Graduating from the Hartford Art School with a BFA in Painting in 2014, I started working at Five Points Gallery as the Gallery Manager. I mainly work on setting up shows, dealing with artists, and installing the work in our three exhibition spaces. I’ve also accepted the role as Social Media Director, and most recently adopted the role as Assistant Curator.

In 2016, I became one of three FPG Pilot Incubator artists. The Incubator program built the foundation for the Five Points Gallery, Hartford Art School/University of Hartford Launchpad initiative which now provides affordable studio space to 16 artists and counting. I am a painter working simultaneously on two very different bodies of work. The first being a continuation of my thesis, working with the canine form.

My most recent work focuses on the physical embodiment of memory through the conscious and subconscious mind, associated with Alzheimer’s Disease. The defining aspect of the work is expressed through a weight of line and the gesture of color abstractions that I’ve recently coined “Swings”.

I was recently selected to be a Public Art Reviewer by the Department of Economic and Community Development, for the new Joyner Health and Science Center at NCCC. The project is in its final stages and the reveal will come later this year.

Hartford Art School taught me a lot in my two years, most importantly the value of community and how to work with other artists.  It’s given me a network of friends and colleges that I wouldn't trade for the world!
