Parking Advisory

With forecast heavy rains for Saturday and the potential for both river and flash flooding, students are asked to avoid parking in low-lying areas of parking lots C, D, E (along the tree line), F (eastern most entrance by the pond), and N-Annex. Cars should now be on higher ground within these lots or in Lot F (by Konover Campus Center). Vehicles should be returned to their assigned parking lots by 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 21.

Production Assistant

New York, NY

B.F.A., Sculpture, 2015

Since graduation, I have turned my interest in sewing and creating costumes into a production assistant position with costume designer Catherine Thomas, with whom I am currently working on the new Netflix original series, Gypsy. As a production assistant my responsibilities include, but are not limited to, driving the designer to and from work, whether it be to our office, set, or shopping around the city.

I became interested in sewing and creating costumes within my work during my time in the Sculpture Department. Hartford Art School encourages internships so I began interning to learn more about costumes. In the winter term of my senior year, I began interning in New York for the costume designer at Sesame Street, Brian Hemesath. During my internship, I worked with him on the Broadway show, Honeymoon in Vegas. I continued my internship throughout my last semester working for the Tony Award-winning costume designer, Paul Tazewell, on the Broadway show Doctor Zhivago. After graduation I moved to New York. My first paid gig was as a production assistant for costume designer Luca Mosca on the movie John Wick: Chapter Two.  I then moved to the six-time Emmy-nominated show MR. ROBOT and began working with Catherine Thomas.
