Parking Advisory

With forecast heavy rains for Saturday and the potential for both river and flash flooding, students are asked to avoid parking in low-lying areas of parking lots C, D, E (along the tree line), F (eastern most entrance by the pond), and N-Annex. Cars should now be on higher ground within these lots or in Lot F (by Konover Campus Center). Vehicles should be returned to their assigned parking lots by 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 21.

Since graduating I have been working at an ICare nursing home in CT (I came across the facility through Cat Balco's Arts in Healthcare class).  I work in recreation and have been able to do various art projects with the residents.  I also started my masters degree in Art Therapy/Counseling at Springfield College, where I have been able to take various studio classes as well as art therapy and counseling courses.  In the spring semester of this year I began as an art therapy intern at Art Connection Studio in Hartford.  This facility works with adults with developmentally disabilities and helps them create, show and sell artwork.

The Hartford Art School has prepared me tremendously for these opportunities.  Because of the education I received at HAS I have the technical skills to assist clients in art making and the education to assist them conceptually, creatively and emotionally as well.  I also continue to engage in my own art making.

I am incredibly grateful for the education I received at the Hartford Art School and would not be where I am today or achieving what I am without it.
