Johanna Morrison began her career as an actress and vocal coach in England.  She holds a B.Ed degree-with distinction, from the Victoria University of Manchester and is an Associate of the Drama Board of Great Britain, A.D.B. and an Associate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, A.L.A.M.

After appearing on television and in many regional theaters in England, she moved to the United States, where she has appeared in many Regional Theaters, including: the North Carolina Shakespeare Festival, Virginia Museum Theater, Playmakers Rep. Chapel Hill, Theater By the Sea, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Hartford stage Company, where she has appeared in multiple plays: Summer and Smoke, Stuff Happens, Noises Off ! Eight By Tenn, The Ether Dome and A Christmas Carol A Ghost Story of Christmas, written and directed by Michael Wilson. She has played the Ghost of Christmas Past since the plays inception, currently 19 years. She has acted at TheaterWorks Hartford, The Monomoy Theater, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Milwaukee Chamber Theater, Indiana Repertory Theater, The Walnut Street Theater, The Cleveland Playhouse, The Denver Center Theater, The Los Angeles’ London-Stage- Company, and the PaperMill Playhouse.

Additionally she has appeared in Dramatic Oratorios with Major Symphony Orchestras, including: The Hartford Symphony, and The North Carolina Symphony.  In addition, Ms. Morrison has appeared in several Movies of The Week on television, including Perry Mason, Murder She Wrote, Diagnosis Murder and Matlock. Her work in Film has included Critical Condition, Double Exposure, and The Queen’s Horse.

Currently Johanna is Adjunct Faculty in the Theater Division of the Hartt School (19 years) where she teaches Voice and Speech and Phonetics and Accents and Dialects and coaches the majority of in-house productions requiring accents. Previous Teaching assignments have been with: The North Carolina School of the Arts, School of Drama, the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, The National Theater Conservatory, Denver. PPTTP University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. Before leaving England Ms. Morrison was Dialect/Voice Coach for Universal Pictures at Pinewood Studios.
