David EberlyBlind since birth, David Eberly was teaching himself to play the piano by age 4. After learning to read Braille music, he began formal study of the piano. He is a graduate of the Oak Hill School for the Blind and the University of Hartford's The Hartt School. Although he is a classically trained musician, David is equally adept at jazz, pop/standards and rock’n’roll. He has performed as a soloist and member of various area musical groups for more than 40 years. He currently is an accompanist for ballet classes at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts and The Hartt School Community Division and frequently performs for residents of local nursing homes and assisted living centers. A resident of Atria Hamilton Heights Assisted Living Center in West Hartford, he entertains fellow residents with monthly concerts and has performed there for members of the West Hartford Kiwanis Club and the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce. He has been profiled in West Hartford Life and has been featured on WFSB's Better Connecticut.
