Jillian FoleyJillian Foley grew up in Niskayuna, N.Y., where she got her dance training at Northeast Ballet Company under the direction of Darlene Myers. She graduated from the University of Hartford's The Hartt School with a BFA in Ballet Pedagogy, under the direction of Stephen Pier, and two minors in Psychology and Performing Arts Management. While at Hartt, Foley had many opportunities to work with classical and contemporary choreographers, including work on a solo performed in November 2015 by Emily Schoen. She also had the opportunity to travel to Amsterdam, Netherlands, to dance with the Henny Jurriens Foundation.

In addition to teaching at HCD, Foley teaches at Joffrey Ballet School Summer Jazz & Contemporary, Steffi Nossen School of Dance, and the Ridgefield School of Dance. She recently choreographed and danced in Orpheé et Eurydice at Des Moines Metro Opera and in Hansel and Gretel with Opera Connecticut. Foley is a member of Amy Marshall Dance Company as well as the founder/director of The Dance Collective.
