Study dance at The Hartt School Community Division

The University of Hartford’s Hartt School Community Division (HCD) is committed to excellence in a warm, friendly, nurturing, inclusive, and diverse environment for all—students, faculty, families, and administration. Our ideals of respect, dignity, personal enrichment, and a professional approach are at the foundation of all that we do every day. At HCD, students of all ages and abilities come together to create, explore, and excel through the performing arts.

HCD dance classes are held in the spacious studios of the Mort and Irma Handel Performing Arts Center (HPAC) in Hartford, Conn., close by the University of Hartford’s main campus. Classes are offered for students ages 3 through adult and are taught by an experienced and knowledgeable professional faculty. The program includes both recreational classes for younger children and adults and a Classical Ballet program for students ages 6–18.

For students just beginning their dance experience, HCD offers pre-k dance and youth hip hop, jazz, and tap.

Classes for teen and adult dancers include ballet, jazz, and tap.
