Eugenio Figueroa is a trained Suzuki teacher in violin, viola, and piano. As a native from San Juan, he worked In Puerto Rico’s conservatory pre-college programs and Kids and Musik, the first music academy specialized in the Suzuki method in Puerto Rico. As a viola performer he played with Orquesta Sinfonica de Bayamon, San Juan Philarmonic Orchestra, and the National Symphony Orchestra in Santo Domingo. He did undergrad in viola performance with Prof. Emanuel Olivieri in Puerto Rico’s Conservatory of Music and got certified as a music teacher in the PR’s public system. Also his passion for teaching lead him to pursue a master's degree, studying with Teri Einfeldt at The Hartt School. At this moment, Figueroa is currently pursuing his doctoral degree in viola performance with Rita Porfiris. He has received training with Teri Einfeldt, Eduardo Ludueña, Fernando Piñero, Caroline Fraser, Mary Craig Powel and Elizabeth Stuen-Walker.
