Katie KennedyKatie Kennedy is an accomplished cellist, an active performer, and has been a dedicated teacher for more than ten years. She comes from a musical family and began her studies with her dad, who is also a cellist.

Katie holds a degree in cello performance from Oberlin Conservatory and has studied at Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, Hungary. Katie’s continuing education has drawn from performances across Europe; Suzuki teacher training courses at Ithaca College Summer Suzuki Institute and The Hartt School; as well as regular performances across New England as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral musician. Katie appears frequently with the New Hampshire Music Festival, Hartford Symphony and Orchestra New England. She is a member of the music faculty at both Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor and the Montessori School of Greater Hartford. In the summer, she teaches at the Music Adventure Chamber Music Program in Siena, Italy. She is a member of the cello-percussion duo The Uncanny Valley and the Island Chamber Players. Her performances have been broadcast on NPR.

In her free time, Katie enjoys travel, art, reading and hiking.
