Teaching Philosophy

Even though musical excellence is a constant, each student is an individual. I work with each student to establish musical goals and put a strategy in place to help the student attain the goals. The teaching is sequential and curriculum based. With an emphasis on fundamentals (for example: tone, intonation, articulation and legato, technical fluency, lip flexibility, mental approach) the teaching builds a thinking musician with a strong and complete skill set ready to meet the demands of specific situations.
