Summer Courses

Summerterm at Hillyer 

Hillyer College offers its students a three week schedule of Mayterm classes, as well as Sessions I and II, six and eight weeks respectively. Prospective students are advised to register early to avoid course cancellations due to low enrollment.

Mayterm courses, in particular, afford students the opportunity to take a course which focuses on difficult subject matter in a concentrated time frame without sacrificing their summer job opportunities. Students who want some downtime at the beginning and end of the summer break often select classes running in Session I from late May through the end of June and/or early July.

Who Should Consider Summerterm?

• First year students who are ending their second semester with fewer than 30 credits and who want to stay on track to graduate in four semesters.
• Students who want to raise their GPA by retaking a class to replace a failing grade.
• Students who want to take a core Hillyer class which cannot be taken on any other campus.
• Students who thrive in small classes with individual attention from Instructors.
• Second year students whose graduation "walk -through" agreement requires them to take summerterm credits.
