Storm Advisory

Blizzard conditions are now impacting our region and a Connecticut statewide travel ban is in effect. The University will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 27.  Day and evening classes are canceled. An updated advisory on the status of classes and operations for Wednesday will be posted Tuesday evening. During the time that the University is closed, the Commons, Subway, and Village Market will maintain regular hours for residential dining services and the Sports Center will be open for use by residential students only. Wellness Cook-Off

Healthy Cook-Off Luau, Healthy Holiday Cook-Off, Healthy Super Bowl Cook-Off

 

Do you love healthy competition and good food?  Are you having a hard time coming up with new and different, healthy recipes?  As a Wellness Initiative, HRD is excited to announce a Healthy Cook-Off.

The Cook-Off will work as follows:

  1. The food must be healthy.
  2. The food must be prepared prior to the event.
  3. To enter into the Cook-Off, please contact Kathe Snow, HR Generalist and Wellness Advocate, at ext. 4668 or ksnow@hartford.edu.
    1. You can enter as an individual or as a team.

               If entering as a team, no more than three people per team.

         2.   Please submit an explanation of the food that you will be preparing as well as a 

              copy of the recipe to Kathe Snow by. 

Don’t like to cook?  This does not exclude you from participating in the Cook-Off.  Your help will be needed to taste the delicious, healthy food being prepared by the chefs.  Come to the Cook-Off and sample the food and let us know whose dish you think is the best!

The winner of the Cook-Off will receive a 3 month membership to Healthy Cooking magazine.
