Weather-Related Schedule Changes

The University of Hartford came through Hurricane Irene with minimal damage and no loss of power. Therefore, move-in for returning students is still scheduled to take place on Monday, Aug. 29, from noon to 8 p.m., and on Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students should check in at Gengras Student Union.

Faculty and staff should report at their regular times on Monday.


The University has delayed the first day of classes until Wednesday, Aug. 31, to allow sufficient time for returning students and their parents to adjust their travel schedules.

Move-In for first year students took place on Saturday, Aug. 27. Students who did not arrive on Saturday may move in on Monday or Tuesday.

The road between The Hartt School and the Facilities/Public Safety building remains closed, along with parking lots C, D, E, and F. Cars were moved to lots A, B, M, the front of N, or the Village lots Check the University’s website on Monday before moving your car back to its assigned spot.

Status of other events and operations:

The “Our Campus Creates!” program for first-year students will take place as scheduled on Monday morning.

The Student Government Association's Club and Organization Fair, which was originally scheduled for Monday afternoon, will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Alumni Plaza.

The Sports Center is scheduled to reopen Monday morning at 8 a.m., conditions permitting.
