Srikrishna Ayyangar specializes in democratic processes, economic liberalization and ethnic politics in India and other countries of South Asia. Having grown up in Libya and with research interests in comparative politics, he is also interested in democratic transitions and market reforms in developing countries.

Ayyangar has published articles in academic journals and worked at the Center for Policy Research in New Delhi, India.
