In part two of a three-part interview, Jacob Harney, chair of the Department of Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Hartford, talks about the importance of stem cells and the use of cellular engineering as an alternative to embryonic stem-cell research. Harney alkso discusses genetic engineering and the feasibility of its use with humans.
Harney also talks about his research interest in diabetes; and the dramatic changes in the numbers of people with either Type-I and Type-II diabetes. He also discusses antigens, antibodies, and evolution.
