University of Hartford Offers Free Job Search Workshops

The University of Hartford's Center for Professional Development is hosting three free workshops this fall to help adults from Greater Hartford with their job searches. The series includes:

-Strategies for Successful Interviewing - Tuesday, Oct. 26, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Cathy McCloud, a career counselor at the Center, will discuss how to conduct an effective interview, how to prepare for and respond to interview questions, and types of questions to ask potential employer.

-Tips for Making a Career Change – Tuesday, Nov. 9, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Eleta Jones, Ph.D., LPC, associate director of the Center, will teach participants how to decide what job to pursue. She will also discuss the different resources that can help narrow a job search.

-Effective Job Search Strategies - Tuesday, Nov. 16, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Eleta Jones, Ph.D., LPC, associate director of the Center, will talk about strategies for conducting a successful job search including targeting, researching, networking and using the internet effectively. She will also share tips for succeeding in a difficult economic climate.
