Late Opening on Wednesday, January 28

In the aftermath of the winter storm, the University of Hartford will open on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Classes will begin at 10:30 a.m.   snow closing guide

Until that time, the Commons, Subway, and Village Market will maintain regular hours for residential dining services and the Sports Center will be open normal hours for use by residential students only. Gengras Student Union and University Libraries remain closed until the University reopens Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Children Will Learn about the Wonders of Science at University of Hartford

More than 400 fourth and fifth-graders from the Hartford area will come to the University of Hartford campus to attend the sixth annual “Wonders of the Human Body Science Fair” on Tuesday, Nov. 9 in the Konover Campus Center from 8:45 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The children will have the opportunity to judge interactive exhibits designed by students in the University’s College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions (ENHP). The winners will be announced during the “Kids Choice Awards” ceremony at the end of the fair.

Additionally, the elementary school students will be able to take self-directed virtual tours of the digestive system, heart, skeleton and other body parts in an interactive format.

Each student will leave the science fair with new knowledge of “The Wonders of the Human Body” and will receive a souvenir bag with a grade-level appropriate book on the functions of the human body and other health related items.

The University of Hartford’s Educational Main Street provides academic support to children and their families in selected schools in Hartford and Bloomfield to increase these young students’ chances of graduating from high school and moving on to post-secondary education. University students tutor in the partner schools during the school day and after school. EMS also provides parents and teachers with workshops on important educational issues.
